Phlebotomy technicians are responsible for drawing blood from patients for tests, transfusions, donations, and research purposes. They prepare patients for blood collection, ensure proper labeling and handling of samples, and follow strict protocols to maintain safety and accuracy.

The national exam, administered by the NHA, can be taken online through remote proctoring from the comfort of your own home. The Clinical Skills Institute team will assist you with both exam registration and preparation, ensuring you are fully ready for your certification exam.

As part of the phlebotomy technician program, students are required to complete a clinical externship consisting of 40 live venipuncture sticks. This externship is only one way you can get the hands-on experience needed to prepare you for your future role. The course also includes clinical kit with dynamic simulations and interactive skills activities that closely replicate real-life patient experiences, further helping you to develop your clinical abilities.
