What Is a Medical Assistant Externship?
A medical assistant externship is a short clinical experience that allows students to apply their training in a real healthcare environment.
During an externship, students may observe and assist medical professionals while gaining exposure to clinical procedures such as:
-
patient intake and vital signs
-
assisting with medical examinations
-
preparing exam rooms
-
documentation and patient records
At Clinical Skills Institute, externships are optional and are designed to help students gain practical experience after completing the online training program.
